Burn-In Board Manufacturing Process

Burn-in BoardsAfter your approval of the Golden Altos burn-in board design; all materials, specifications, and other applicable documents are sent to Production begin building your boards.

At this point, production turnaround time varies between 1 day to 2 weeks depending on the quantity, density, and complexity of the boards.

The Golden Altos board manufacturing process flow follows these steps:

Process Description
Incoming Inspection
All components are inspected to ensure correct value and good condition. Depending on the component, inspection is done on either a sampling or 100% basis.
Kitting
After components are received they are stored in kit boxes labeled with the appropriate Job information.
Assembly
This is the actual board build procedure. At this stage, all components are stuffed on the bare PCB (Printed Circuit Board).
QC1
Quality Control Inspection point to ensure the boards are properly assembled prior to wavesolder. This stage eliminates rework caused by wrong, missing or incorrect orientation of the components.
Wavesolder
This process permanently fuses the components to the PCB.
Wash and Bake
Flux and other residue left over from the wavesolder procedure is cleaned up during this process.
Lead Trimming
Excessive component leads are trimmed at this stage.
QC2
Quality Control Inspection point to ensure that all boards with solder voids, bridging, and untrimmed leads are properly identified and sent for rework.
Rework
This process corrects all the problems identified on QC2.
Wash and Bake
All residue and foreign material left on the board due to lead trimming and rework are cleaned at this stage.
Final Test
All boards are 100% checked using Computer Aided Testing ensure the boards have no resistance, capacitance, leakage or diode values problems.
Final Wash
This process ensures that the boards are clean of any foreign material and residue prior to being packaged for shipment.
Packing
The boards are protected and packaged together with all necessary documents and prepared for shipment.
Final QC
Quality Control Inspection point to ensure all boards and documentation are complete, in good condition and ready to be shipped out.
